How CBD Coffee can Help Manage Inflammation & Improve Health

CBD coffee has been gaining much popularity in recent years as more and more people keep on discovering the numerous health benefits of combining CBD with their daily cups of joe.

One of the most significant benefits of this variety of coffee is its powerful anti-inflammatory properties, which can help patients effectively manage inflammation and improve overall health and wellness.

Understanding inflammation

Inflammation is a complex physiological process that happens in response to injury, infection, or other irritants. The immune system triggers inflammation to protect the affected area and initiate the healing process.

When an injury or infection occurs, the immune system dispatches white blood cells to the affected area to remove any foreign substances or damaged tissues. These white blood cells produce cytokines, which are a type of protein that is linked to the inflammatory response. Cytokine production attracts more white blood cells to the area, and this ultimately results in swelling, redness, and pain.

In acute inflammation, the immune system responds to the stressor and the inflammatory response ends once the healing process is complete. However, in chronic inflammation, the immune system remains activated for extended periods. In turn, this leads to tissue damage and a higher likelihood of developing various chronic diseases.

Chronic inflammation has been associated with many health conditions including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and more. So managing chronic inflammation is critical for maintaining optimal health and well-being.

How does CBD work as an anti-inflammatory agent?

How CBD Coffee can Help Manage Inflammation & Improve Health

CBD is a non-psychoactive compound present in cannabis and hemp plants that have been shown to possess potent anti-inflammatory properties. Once consumed, CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a vital role in regulating various physiological processes including inflammation.

In the particular case of how CBD coffee helps with inflammation, CBD works by suppressing cytokine production through a number of different mechanisms. First, it interacts with the ECS, which consists of three main components. These are the endocannabinoids (cannabinoids produced naturally in the body), cannabinoid receptors (found on the surface of cells), and enzymes that break down endocannabinoids.

CBD interacts with the ECS by inhibiting the breakdown of endocannabinoids, which increases their levels in the body. This increase then activates cannabinoid receptors, leading to a reduction in cytokine production and subsequent inflammation.

Also, CBD interacts with other receptors that are involved in the immune system like the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV 1) receptor as another means of CBD coffee to reduce inflammation in the body. TRPV 1 is involved in the sensation of pain and inflammation. CBD has been shown to inhibit its activation, which leads to a reduction in cytokine production.

Additionally, CBD is thought to modulate the activity of a number of transcription factors and enzymes involved in cytokine production. For instance, it can inhibit the activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB), a transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes involved in inflammation.

The power of CBD coffee

The power of CBD coffee

When combined with the caffeine in regular coffee, CBD coffee for inflammation delivers a powerful anti-inflammatory effect that can help to reduce pain and improve overall health and wellness. Inflammation CBD THC coffee may be consumed in several ways including as a regular cup of coffee with CBD oil added, or as pre-made CBD-infused coffee grounds or beans.

The amount of CBD in such coffee blends tends to vary depending on the product, but it typically ranges from 10mg to 25mg per serving. It is always important to start with a low dose and gradually increase it until you arrive at the right amount that works for you.

Lastly, while CBD coffee for reducing inflammation can be a great alternative to traditional pain medication, it is always recommended to consult your healthcare provider before using it, especially if you’re taking other medications.

Shoutout To Our Biggest Fan, Louis:  A Loyal Customer Who Loves Ott Coffee and CBD-Infused Brew

Written by Megan Lane

The Ott Coffee team wants to give a big shout-out to one of our biggest fans. His name is Louis and he lives with his wife in Texas. We want to thank him for his loyalty while finding out more information in regard to his personal experience. He is a major fan of cannabinoid-infused coffee and a loyal, kickass customer.

Our friend Louis was kind enough to engage in a one-hour interview about the benefits of Ott Coffee, the conditions he suffers from, what other brands he has tried and so much more.

That’s enough from me, though, let me pass Louis the mic. Read on to find out the experiences of a kind man who has given us ongoing support for years.

This interview is slightly edited for clarity, readability, and length.

Hey Louis! Thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions on the phone with me today. I’m curious to know, what is your favorite thing about Ott Coffee?

You’re welcome. I’m glad to help out. So, I’ve been drinking Ott Coffee’s decaffeinated Relaxation blend for a long time now. I’d say I began purchasing the whole bean variation at three years, at least.

I have never tried another brand because I wouldn’t want anything else. There is such a good flavor in the roast I sip on every day.

the edge of your chronic pain and soothes the nerves. In 1998, I endured a back injury while working on the job and I’ve suffered every day since. CBD coffee takes the edge off and soothes my nerves while helping to relieve symptoms of the chronic pain condition I’m diagnosed with.

Are you on prescription medication? I’d rather have CBD than gavapentjn and oxycodone. I prefer a natural approach. Weed is illegal in Texas, you chose CBD because otherwise, doctors would remove your scripts for the other medications. It gives me a whole new way to look at the day.

How did you discover Ott Coffee?

I first found them online while searching for a holistic approach to address my symptoms. I wish I could smoke pot once in a while. But since that’s not legal here, I found Ott Coffee… and I haven’t looked back since.

I met the founder, Alwan, in person more than a few times. Often I drive right to his house when I need to pick up my monthly supplies.

My wife bought me a bunch of the Relaxation blend for Christmas and I’m still working on finishing that off (laughs.) She bought me five bags.

What an awesome present, right?

Oh shoot, it’s one of the best gifts I could’ve gotten. It honestly doesn’t get any better. I drink four or five cups in the morning every single day. The hemp takes the edge off the negative symptoms of my condition.

That’s excellent! Do you happen to suffer from anxiety?

Yes definitely. It’s affected my life by causing me to feel edgy sometimes. My wife is in the background listening to me mentioning using the term “edgy” (laughs.) She knows me all too well. But the CBD-infused blend that I brew reduces the pain and relieves stress while promoting relaxation.

I grind the whole beans fresh from Ott Coffee in the morning hours. The flavor is enhanced when I take this route. However, ground coffee makes one hell of a cup, too. The whole bean just tastes like some damn good coffee.

Sometimes coffee houses serve a cup of joe where the mug essentially tastes better than the brew itself! But with Ott, the taste is not only delicious but also incomparable to any other coffee I’ve had.

On a scale of 1-10, how much is Ott Coffee improving your life?

On a scale of 1-10, how much is Ott Coffee improving your life?

CBD coffee helps me a lot, so I’d say that it is a solid 8 on a scale of 1-10.

But there are just some symptoms that hemp coffee cannot alleviate. I experience such high pain levels on an everyday basis. The pain is so bad — nothing could really get rid of it completely.

I suffer from depression which is a result of my chronic pain. I’ve been battling PTSD for a long time, too. I take antidepressants in conjunction with Ott Coffee and two help me out a bit. Depression is hard to beat, though.

What suggestions do you want to make about Ott Coffee?

I’d like to see Alwan reach a wider market. He’s a really good fella, and I’ve met his father a couple of times and he’s very nice too.

Al is trying really hard and he’s a good people person. Too many folks believe that the world owes them a living — all they care about is earning a paycheck. Alwan isn’t like this at all. He cares about his business and his people (customers, employees, and everyone he comes around.) He deserves the best success life can offer.

The only suggestion I will make is this: I wish every blend had decaffeinated options available. Let me note that I am really satisfied with the blend I do use from the brand. However, I am curious to try Ott’s other cannabinoid-infused blends. If they’re not decaf, my system can’t handle the caffeine well — I grit my teeth and feel tense. The CBD does reduce the side effects quite a bit, though. I’m sure other customers would also like to see decaf options available in the future.

When Al thinks it’s time to implement these changes, that’s when it’s time. I trust him and would never tell him how to run his company.

Is there anything else you want to add, Louis?

The only other thing I want is pretty impossible. But can you get Texas to legalize smoke, Megan? (laughs.)

I wish, Louis!! We are sending you a free bag of your favorite blend to show you the team’s gratitude for your time today. Please enjoy it 🙂

How to Pair Plant Based Milks with CBD Coffee

The consumption of both plant-based milk and CBD is growing rapidly across the world at the moment.

A 2021 study by The Good Food Institute claims that 41% of US households primarily drink plant-based milk over dairy and that 26% of Americans have tried CBD more than once.

Combine this with the enduring popularity of coffee and this naturally raises the question of how to best pair plant-based milk with CBD infused coffee.

Here we are going to go through how to explain how to best combine plant-based milk with CBD coffee to maximize both the coffee’s flavor and health benefits.

Why Pair Plant Based Milk with CBD Coffee?

Putting the potential ethical and environmental reasons to avoid dairy aside for a minute, here are some of the ways that plant-based milk can help elevate the health benefits of CBD coffee:

  • Switching to plant-based milk can enhance CBD’s anti-inflammatory effects: Almost all plant-based milk contain significantly less fat than dairy milk. Consuming saturated fat can cause inflammation which can detract from the CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore CBD coffee mixed with plant-based milk can be better for fighting inflammation than CBD coffee with dairy milk.
  • Plant-based milk can enhance CBD’s positive effects on mood and concentration: Dairy milk contains far more sugar than plant-based milk. Excessive sugar consumption can cause mood swings and impair concentration. This again means that combining CBD coffee with plant-based milk can maximize its positive effects on concentration compared to dairy milk.

Which Plant-Based Milks are Best for CBD Coffee?

The best plant-based milk to have with CBD coffee depends on a few factors. They are:

  • Your CBD coffee blend and the specific health benefit that you want to get from it.
  • Your brewing style and the type of coffee that you want to make.
  • The milk’s curdle point, both in terms of pH and temperature.

As mentioned earlier, the quantity of fat and sugar in the milk you put in your CBD coffee can directly impact any health and well-being benefits that you can derive from it.

The table below shows the quantity of fat and sugar in the most popular plant-based milk. I’ve also included their protein content and curdle points, as this will be important when we talk about frothing milk.

Type of MilkSugar ContentFat ContentProtein ContentCurdle Point (pH)Curdle Point (temperature)
Dairy 5%2.5%3.5%4.5180 Fahrenheit
Soy0.4%1.7%3%5.5150 Fahrenheit
Oat7%1%1.5%5160 Fahrenheit
Almond0.5%1.25%0.5%5160 Fahrenheit
Cashew1.25%4.5%1.9%5150 Fahrenheit
Coconut3.3% 2.4%2.3%4150 Fahrenheit
Rice5%1%0.1%5.5140 Fahrenheit
Pea0%2%3.5%<4170 Fahrenheit
Hemp 2%2.6%0%5.5160 Fahrenheit

If you are drinking CBD coffee for its mental health benefits, such as for relaxation or concentration, then I would recommend taking it with either almond milk or pea milk.

These three kinds of milk have very low sugar content, so will not clash with the mental health benefits of CBD coffee. I’d particularly recommend pairing these three kinds of milk with our Productivity Coffee and Relaxation Decaf Coffee.

If you are drinking CBD coffee for its anti-inflammatory properties, then I’d recommend taking it with oat milk or almond milk. These are two of the lowest-fat plant-based milk and therefore shouldn’t negate the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD coffee.

I wouldn’t recommend using soy milk or rice milk with coffee of any kind because these two kinds of milk curdle at a pH of 5.5. Coffee typically has a pH of just under 5, so adding these milk to coffee can cause it to split and develop an unpleasant graininess.

Frothing Milk for Lattes

Frothing Milk for Lattes

If you want to make frothed milk for espresso-based drinks like latte and cappuccino with your CBD coffee, then you need milk that is high in protein and fat.

Oat milk is by far your best option here and the only plant-based milk that will froth comparably to dairy milk.

Barista oat milk is becoming increasingly available and really does froth to a similar standard as dairy milk. Just be aware that barista milk contains a lot of added seed oils which may undo some of the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD.

What About Hemp Milk?

Hemp milk is pretty middling in terms of its fat and sugar content compared to other plant-based milk. So while it’s a decent option to have with CBD coffee, it is neither the best option to maximize CBD’s psychological nor physiological benefits.

What About Hemp Milk?

That being said, it has a nice neutral flavor that goes well with coffee and it’s not going to curdle or split when you add it to a hot drink. In short, it’s not the worst option, but not the best option either.

Hemp milk only has trace amounts of protein in it, so it is not going to froth up at all. I wouldn’t recommend it for making lattes and other milk-based espresso drinks.

Summing Up

The best plant-based milk to have with CBD coffee depends on what positive effects you want to get from the drink.

If you are drinking CBD coffee for relaxation or enhanced concentration then you want to go for a low sugar milk. Your best options here are almond milk or pea milk.

If you are primarily looking for anti-inflammatory effects then you want low-fat milk. Oat milk is your best option here. Oat milk is also the best plant-based milk for frothed coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos because of its high protein content.

Hemp milk doesn’t contain too much fat or sugar, so is a good all-rounder to have with CBD coffee.

The Ultimate Guide to CBD Coffee: What it is, How it is Made & the Health Benefits

Written By Brian Njenga

Coffee and cannabidiol (CBD) are some of the most popular substances on a global scale at the moment. Millions of people from all over the world consume them every day for many reasons, and both substances are known for providing a wide array of benefits.

Today, you can indulge in these two substances and receive the best of both worlds in a convenient, hassle-free manner. When you combine cannabidiol and coffee, the end result is CBD coffee — a beverage that’s become increasingly popular among coffee enthusiasts who are seeking out something new, while also accessing the numerous cannabidiol coffee benefits.

What is CBD coffee?

Cannabis buds

Cannabidiol coffee is a blend of coffee and CBD, a non-intoxicating compound present in the cannabis plant and hemp plant. There are currently two different methods used to make this sort of coffee

You can use CBD-infused coffee beans to brew cannabidiol coffee, or you may prefer combining CBD oil with your brew of plain coffee.

CBD oil is extracted from hemp, a strain of cannabis that possesses low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is a psychoactive compound that triggers the “high” sensation experienced by consumers. The coffee used in cannabidiol blends can be any kind of coffee including cold brew, espresso, or even drip coffee.

The amount of cannabidiol used in CBD coffee tends to vary depending on the desired caffeine strength and the intended effects required.

It is important to note that cannabidiol isn’t a substitute for coffee. Rather, it is added to the blend to enhance the drinking experience, and of course, deliver the additional benefits associated with CBD.

Coffee has been around for hundreds of years, but the combination of cannabidiol and coffee is relatively new. Cannabidiol was first discovered in the early 1940s. However, it wasn’t until the 1990s that researchers first discovered its potential health benefits.

By the turn of the 21st century, CBD had gained plentiful popularity. In recent years, cannabidiol has evolved into a key ingredient in many products including coffee.

Let’s take a closer look now at how you can make cannabidiol coffee in a stress-free way.

Using CBD-infused coffee beans

Ott Coffee CBD infused coffee beans

This method involves using cannabidiol-infused coffee beans — a result of infusing coffee beans with CBD during the roasting process. This process ensures that the cannabidiol is evenly distributed throughout the coffee beans. CBD coffee beans come in different varieties, so you can pick which one suits your needs — for instance: light, medium, and even dark roasts.

Adding CBD oil to your coffee

This is a straightforward process that involves adding drops of HEMP oil directly to your cup of coffee. However, it is important to state that CBD oil is hydrophobic. This simply means it doesn’t mix well with water-based liquids like coffee. In turn, this means using this method greatly impairs the drinking experience and you might end up with the bitter taste of the undissolved CBD oil. Instead, we strongly recommend you settle for Ott Coffee’s cannabidiol-infused beans. We can say we have definitely figured out the infusion process and can deliver the ultimate CBD coffee experience, without any compromises.

Interactions with the human body

Cannabidiol is believed to interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the human body. The ECS is responsible for maintaining homeostasis or balance within the body. The ECS plays a critical role in a large number of physiological processes.

This includes pain, inflammation, sleep, appetite, and mood. CBD has been shown to interact with the ECS by binding itself to cannabinoid receptors in the body which aids in regulating these processes.

Perceived health benefits of CBD-infused coffee

Cannabis plant

Granted, not much research has been conducted on the purported health benefits of cannabidiol coffee. Also, that which has been done on CBD coffee effects is still in its early stages and ongoing. But there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence that suggests  CBD does indeed deliver a wide range of health benefits.

  • CBD coffee is touted for boosting energy levels and focus and drinking CBD coffee for energy seems a good idea. Coffee by itself is widely acclaimed for these properties, and the inclusion of cannabidiol is thought to enhance them.
  •  CBD is believed to help reduce anxiety and promotes a sense of calm, making CBD coffee for anxiety an ideal beverage for people who are stressed or anxious.
  • CBD has been shown to possess neuroprotective effects that are known to improve cognitive function and boost mental acuity.
  • CBD-infused coffee is believed to have exceptional anti-inflammatory properties. Coffee has been proven to possess these properties too and combining them is thought to deliver greater relief from inflammation-related conditions including arthritis.
  • cannabidiol coffee has been shown to improve digestive system health and function. It has even been linked with reducing the symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.
  •  Coffee has been proven to possess cardioprotective effects, which is equally true for Hemp. So cannabidiol-infused coffee is thought to be able to minimize the risk factors of contracting heart disease.
  • CBD has been shown to have excellent analgesic properties that can help minimize the pain and discomfort associated with a number of health conditions.
  • Cannabidiol is thought to be in a position of improving sleep quality and minimizing insomnia.
  • Lastly, this variety of coffee may help regulate serotonin levels in the brain. This helps boost mood and makes the management of depression symptoms more effective.

There is much need for more research to fully understand all the potential health benefits of CBD coffee.

Is CBD coffee safe to drink?

While CBD coffee is generally considered safe to drink, it is important to understand that consumption can interact adversely with some medications. For instance, cannabidiol has been known to inhibit the metabolism of certain medications which can result in higher levels of such medicine in the bloodstream. So if you are on any medication, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor before consuming cannabidiol coffee.

Conclusion

CBD coffee will be a great addition to your drinking routine if you are on the lookout for an ingenious way to enhance the many benefits of coffee. While also incorporating the potential health benefits of cannabidiol. On a parting shot, it is always important to conduct your own research and make informed decisions about your health and wellness choices.

HHC 101 – The How, the Why & the Wherefores

HHC 101 – The How, the Why & the Wherefores

HHC 101 - The How, the Why & the Wherefores

Written by Megan Lane

Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a type of cannabinoid that was first created in 1944 by Roger Adams, an American chemist. He added hydrogen molecules to Delta-9 THC, a process known as hydrogenation, which converts THC to HHC. The process of hydrogenation is not limited to the production of cannabinoids. In fact, a similar approach is taken when you’re converting vegetable oil into margarine.

Hexahydrocannabinol is typically derived from hemp, which is a low-THC cannabis plant that was made federally legal by the 2018 Farm Bill. The major difference between HHC and THC or Delta-8 is the presence of a hydrogen molecule in Hexahydrocannabinol that is absent in THC. Consumers and scientists have observed that HHC produces less potent and psychoactive effects compared to conventional Delta-9 THC.

The process of making Hexahydrocannabinol involves several steps, starting with the extraction of CBD from raw hemp, distillation, and isolation of the compound in powder form. CBD acts as the base for the chemical reaction that creates HHC. According to Kyle Ray, the Chief Operating Officer of Colorado Chromatography, the process of creating Hexahydrocannabinol takes place in a chemical reactor, which he describes as a “black box.” The end result of the process is a gold-colored dark oil that is refined and distilled.

Richard Sams, Scientific Director at KCA Laboratories, said that HHC can be safely produced in well-equipped laboratories… However, if production is scaled up, the risks increase, including the potential for explosions.

Colorado Chromatography only produces Hexahydrocannabinol in an explosion-proof space to minimize these risks. The effects of HHC on the body and mind are not well understood, as there is a lack of consensus on its potency.

The complexity arises from the fact that when the cannabinoid is manufactured, the end result is a mixture of two different Hexahydrocannabinol molecules: 9R HHC binds to the body’s natural endocannabinoid receptors while 9S HHC does not.

According to Richard Sams, When consuming a sufficient dose, Hexahydrocannabinol can produce effects similar to Delta-8 THC, according to Richard Sams. But it takes a much higher dosage of the compound to do so.

Kyle Ray of Colorado Chromatography stated that the ratios of active and inactive HHC molecules can vary from batch to batch, and they need to be at least 50% active to be considered a viable product.

Liam Burns of Bearly Legal, a client of Colorado Chromatography, believes in the effects of Hexahydrocannabinol, saying that he feels energetic, sharp, and pain-free when using the compound. The benefits are remarkable.

How is HHC different from Delta-8  and Delta-9 THC?

HHC  is not a recognized term in the field of cannabinoids. On the other hand, however, THC  is known for being a psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant. THC is recognized for producing the “high” associated with the recreational use of cannabis.

Delta-8-THC is a minor psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant and it is structurally similar to THC. People are boasting about the similar effects D8!.results in —  the “buzz” Delta 8 users are experiencing is not unlike THC, aside from the lower potency and less negative side effects like anxiety and paranoia.

How is HHC made?

HHC is an abbreviation for hexahydrocannabinol This chemical compound is synthesized from Delta-9 THC and several other cannabinoids. The process includes a chemical reaction, which is technically called isomerization.

The reaction involves rearranging the atoms within the molecule to create a different chemical structure. The exact method used to create HHC often varies, but the goal is to produce a molecule that has a similar effect to THC but with a different potency level or chemical properties.

It’s important to note that synthesizing Hexahydrocannabinol and other cannabinoids generally requires specialized equipment and expertise. And the making of HHC should only take place in a controlled laboratory setting for safety reasons.

What effects does HHC have on the body and mind?

There aren’t too many studies on Hexahydrocannabinol, leading to a lack of knowledge about its effects on the mind and body. In the near future, we hope to have a better understanding of how HHC can affect us. Some anecdotal evidence suggests that Hexahydrocannabinol can produce effects similar to other cannabinoids such as THC, including relaxation, altered perception, and mild euphoria.

What effects does HHC have on the body and mind?

However, much like other substances, the individual experience you’ll have isn’t the same as another person would have — even if the same dose and form are ingested.  The effects are somewhat unpredictable.

It is crucial to exercise caution and understand the potential risks and side effects when using even heavily researched cannabinoids like CBD. We also recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before self-medicating with HHC for mental health, chronic pain conditions, and seizure disorders.

How potent is Hexahydrocannabinol?

The potency of HHC is not well studied and information is limited. The strength of HHC varies depending on the source and production method. The experiences people have reported have shown us that the effects are different from person to person. We can only assume that this is a result of how the cannabinoid interacts with the endocannabinoid system’s receptors located in the brain and body.

Does HHC show up on a drug test?

It is unknown whether or not HHC will show up on drug tests. However, since HHC is not a well-studied compound and it’s not widely used or commercially available, there is a lack of information available on its detection in drug tests.

Drug tests have different levels of sensitivity and some cannot detect all compounds —  including Hexahydrocannabinol. It is advisable to speak with the drug test administrator to gain more information on what substances are tested for and how the lab detects them.

Can you vape HHC?

Yes, HHC can be vaped. However, it is important to note that the safety and long-term health effects of vaping HHC are not well understood and more research is needed in this area.

Additionally, the use of any form of HHC, including vaping, is not legal in all regions and jurisdictions. Before purchasing Hexahydrocannabinol products, it is important to research the laws and regulations in your area while keeping the potential risks to your health and well-being in mind.

Is hexahydrocannabinol legal?

Yes, hexahydrocannabinol — nicknamed HHC — is legal throughout most states in the US. This is due to the fact that it’s derived from hemp. The regulations in your area, region, or country may make buying natural, medicinal supplements like cannabinoids impossible. In some regions, HHC is legal, while in others it’s still prohibited.

In the United States, the legality of Hexahydrocannabinol is uncertain due to the laws that have been determined on state and federal levels. We urge you to perform adequate research so you can understand the legalities in your area before purchasing or consuming HHC products.

When you experience optimal performance with a feeling of effortless accomplishment, this means you’re in the flow state — a time period in which you’re fully engaged in whatever the task at hand is. And you feel like time is flying by.

The Ott Coffee Team understands the importance of being immersed at will in the flow state. This is why we formulated the perfect coffee for promoting this mind state.

Our beloved CBD coffee Productivity Series is specially designed to help you achieve your best possible performance by enhancing your focus, energy, and productivity. But how can you get into the flow state in the most convenient and hassle-free way? Read on to find out.

Understanding the Flow State

One of the most effective means of entering the flow state is finding an activity that challenges you, but isn’t too difficult. This means finding tasks that match your skill level and permit you to focus your attention completely on them.  In other words, when you are fully engaged in activities that are challenging yet achievable, you will be more likely to flow.

Additionally, setting clear goals and breaking down tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks will help you enter and maintain the flow state. By creating a positive work environment and being mindful of your surroundings, you can create an atmosphere that promotes sustained focus and concentration.

However, as it was earlier noted, achieving the flow state isn’t a walk in the park, but that’s why we’re here. We offer an all-natural supplement that can help you get and stay there: CBD-infused coffee.

How CBD coffee promotes the flow state

CBD otherwise known as cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive compound present in the hemp and cannabis plants that’s renowned for its amazing capabilities to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation.

When combined with coffee, one of the effects of CBD is to help boost your focus and mental alertness. This makes it even easier to enter and maintain the flow state. Let us now take a closer look at how this is brought about.

Cannabidiol coffee reduces anxiety

CBD can help minimize anxiety, a significant barrier to getting into the flow state. When you are feeling anxious, it is hard to focus on the various tasks at hand and enter a state of optimal performance naturally. Cannabidiol can help reduce anxiety by interacting with the endocannabinoid system, which regulates mood, appetite, and sleep.

CBD coffee improves focus and concentration

Caffeine is a stimulant that is known to enhance alertness and CBD may help reduce distractions by calming the mind. This combination may enable you to concentrate on the tasks at hand and maintain that focus for prolonged periods, enabling you to glide into the flow state with CBD-infused coffee at will.

Cannabidiol coffee enhances mood and calm alertness

Cannabidiol coffee may be able to enhance your mood and provide you with a sense of calm alertness. When you are in a good mood, it is much easier to get into the flow and stay there. CBD’s ability to promote relaxation can help reduce stress and anxiety, which will improve your overall mood and make it easier to enter the flow state.

CBD for mood enhancement has been shown to have a positive impact on mood through its interactions with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) to regulate the release of dopamine and serotonin. For those who might perhaps not be in the know, these two neurotransmitters play a critical role in the regulation of mood.

How does  CBD interact with the ECS to regulate mood?

The ECS happens to be a complex system, consisting of receptors, enzymes, and endocannabinoids. All these work seamlessly together to maintain balance in the body. Cannabidiol interacts with the CB-1 and CB-2 receptors within the ECS to regulate the release of the “feel-good” hormones; dopamine and serotonin.

CBD can inhibit the reuptake of these neurotransmitters. In turn, this enables them to remain within the brain synapses for extended periods, which results in a significant increase in their activity. Also, CBD is thought to be able to stimulate endocannabinoid production, which may further activate the ECS and fast-track the release of dopamine and serotonin.

Research suggests that CBD’s power to regulate the release of these feel-good hormones may lead to vast improvements in mood, anxiety reduction, and alleviation of depression symptoms.  So CBD for mood can be a great alternative to traditional mood-boosting medicine.

CBD for  mood enhancement has been shown to minimize symptoms of anxiety and depression, less the negative side effects of many traditional medications. Still, it is always wise to consult your healthcare provider before try to enhance your mood with CBD products, especially if you’re on other medication.

How To Make CBD Coffee Body Scrub From Home

Recycle your CBD Coffee and make it into a body scrub!

Written by John Marchese and Megan Lane

Have you ever looked at used coffee grounds and wondered if you can repurpose them? Well, you can. Some people use them in gardens to promote healthy plant growth. But the Ott Coffee team is here to help share several homemade CBD-infused coffee bodies and facial scrub recipes with you. This way, you can reuse used coffee grounds and walk around all year long with radiant skin.

Why should people use CBD coffee scrubs?

There isn’t specific evidence at the moment, but coffee contains caffeine and antioxidants that are applied to benefit our skin in many ways.

Caffeine in and of itself has many positive effects and so does CBD. But topically applying our fave mood-boosting cup of joe helps dilate blood vessels and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while

reducing excess water and tightening the skin. Who wouldn’t want to appear more toned from CBD — AKA, cannabidiol?

Another benefit comes from the natural exfoliating effects of the grounds of coffee themselves; they are loosening, cleaning, and removing dead skin cells when you take five to 10 extra minutes to scrub your face and body in the bath or shower two to three times every week.

And what about the CBD?

Well, by the time you have brewed and finished drinking your cup of CBD-infused coffee, the levels of residual CBD remaining in the grounds is low. But let’s not get too scientific here.

In case you’re wondering, ‘why should I use a CBD body scrub,’ we will touch on the primary benefits for you.

CBD is effective when it comes to fighting acne since it aids in reducing sebum from excess production. Too much sebum causes breakouts, blemishes, signs of early aging, greasy skin, and more.

The research is promising: the evidence implies CBD can be effective at addressing the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis, too.

Exfoliating will make your skin look brighter and feel smoother. While our skin naturally exfoliates, our daily body lotion, sweat and oil can slow the natural process of shedding dead skin cells.

No need to buy those pricey skincare products you love anymore, though. Why would ya’ when you can DIY instead? This is better for the planet, your skin and your bank account.

Natural CBD body and facial scrubs are generally able to be made with ingredients you already have in your kitchen, making the process of whipping up a batch super simple.

CBD Coffee & Coconut Oil Body Scrub

Much like all our recipes, you should gently scrub your hands, body, and feet one to two times per week. Exfoliation with CBD coffee is designed for your hands, body, feet, and face. For best results, leave your homemade CBD coffee scrub on for three to five minutes before washing it off.

The oil you’ll use in the scrubs tends to be a tad slippery, so be careful you don’t fall in the shower. All of these scrubs expire in six months, but for those who apply them on their entire body once a week… you’ll need to make more because they’ll run out.

For each recipe, you can use any essential oil, body-safe scents, or blend of oils to create your desired fragrance.

CBD and D8 Infused Coffee Beans Craft the Perfect Brew

Written by Megan Lane

Some folks are wondering what the health benefits are of drinking coffee infused with the popular hemp derivative, Delta 8 THC. The primary reasons for indulging in a euphoric brew like D8 coffee are the medicinal properties and subtle high — CBD, Delta 8 coffee produces a high that’s similar but less potent than Delta-9 THC.

When you pair quality coffee with cannabinoids like Delta-8, the unique, smooth combo is to-die-for.

Many CBD coffee and D8 brands are teaming up with roasters to get top-notch coffee beans. Then they infuse the beans with Delta-8 for good reason. The final brew tastes damn good and aids in minimizing the symptoms of various ailments while triggering an incomparable and mellow high.

But let’s face it: Not all Delta-8 coffee— or D8 flower — is equal. Not even close. Regardless, the quality and flavor is best when hemp brands craft this roast to support next-level euphoria.

When you infuse coffee beans with the proper amount of Delta-8 THC, the effects can improve your mood and sense of well-being.

Drinking a cup of Joe with synthetic CBD — AKA, Delta 8 — gives people the full-on caffeine and cannabinoid experience. This triggers a pleasant mixture of motivation, energy, and bliss.

But with no crash at all, imagine an indescribable mellow feeling from the time it kicks in and peaks, till it wears off.

Get this: There’s no need to worry about the dreaded coffee jitters either. Even after drinking multiple cups.

Delta-8 THC boasts a multitude of health benefits, and it’s a cannabis compound that’s similar to actual weed — technically cannabis is titled Delta-9 THC. And marijuana is said to contain more psychoactive components than other cannabinoids.

CBD is psychoactive, too, though. After all, you have noticed that it promotes happiness, relieves anxiety, and leads to other changes in the brain, right?

Some people like a nice buzz though. That sweet euphoric feeling we all know and love? It comes from Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC.

All strains of Delta-8 THC have terpenes in them — the terpenes are compounds that enhance flavor to give coffee that rich, irresistible flavor.

How Does Delta-8 THC Work?

Perhaps a bit complex, but here are some of the basics about how D8 works. Delta-8 THC binds to the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system. Everyone’s body houses one. This invisible web-like structure is responsible for regulating and balancing functions like appetite, metabolism, and memory.

When D8 connects to these receptors, the influx of happy chemicals can boost confidence and help alleviate depression. Delta 8 also increases the serum concentration of anandamide, along with other “feel-good” transmitters like serotonin and dopamine.

Another important aspect of how Delta-8 THC works are the entourage effect. You might have even heard the term before. But what is the exact meaning? In essence, it’s how cannabinoids react with other compounds, even caffeinated beverages like coffee.

Delta-8 Pairs With Coffee Just Like PB&J

When you roast and infuse coffee with the proper amount of Delta-8 THC, the effects can boost your mood and positively impact your life.

You see, a cup of Joe that’s infused with synthetic CBD — AKA, Delta-8 THC — provides people with full-on caffeine and cannabinoid experience. This is all in addition to having more motivation and energy every day.

The combination of Delta-8 THC and caffeine can amplify one another’s effects. Basically, the caffeine and cannabinoid high is intensified. You will experience stronger effects from both substances, in comparison to people who haven’t dabbled with weed and coffee.

Everyone’s different. So it’s always best to be mindful after drinking a few cups, especially before important events like a work presentation.

With no crash or come-down, imagine an indescribable mellow feeling like pure bliss. We think Delta-8 THC and coffee go together, just like peanut butter and jelly.

Who wouldn’t want to remain wakeful throughout the day? Exactly. Pushing through daily work and responsibilities is a breeze with D8.

Pro Tip: Squeeze a dropperful of a CBD tincture into your coffee. Two cannabinoids stirred in a cup definitely packs a punch.

The Laws Revolving Around CBD, Delta-8 THC

Despite the fact that Delta 8 contains a lower percentage of THC, studies have shown that the likelihood of failing a drug test for THC is highly probable.

Luckily for us, marijuana and workplace drug testing protects applicants in most states from discrimination. In other words: You’re about 90% safe (depending on where you live.)

There are a lot of bans set in place against THC testing during job interviews.

But is consuming Delta-8 in any form legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill passed and then put an act into effect which legalized the growth and sales of hemp-derived products. So now CBD is legal across the states, despite the fact that it’s not FDA approved.

Still, Delta 8 is manufactured synthetically so the laws are still a bit hazy.

D8 is found in cannabis and hemp plants — they’re both legal to grow anywhere in the US. But CBD — a compound extracted from hemp — is entirely natural. However, The Farm Bill classified CBD products as medicinal supplements; and they’re still in that class.

On the other hand, Delta 8 THC is pretty much man-made — it’s created by using a thin film distillation with cannabis flower.

Your best bet, though, is steering clear of any run-ins with the law. Research the legalities revolving around the use of Delta-8 THC ingestibles (tinctures, edibles, coffee & drinks) and smokables (flower, vapes, prerolls) in your area online.

Coffee beans that have been roasted and infused with Delta-8 THC are innocent enough, but if your state’s late to the recreational game, maybe just enjoy the buzz from home.
